WHY does a high load occur at loading and transfer points?
Very high point loads can occur when loading a conveyor belt. When discharging large quantities of bulk materials, this is unavoidable in some situations.
WHY is support at a conveyor belt loading and discharge point important?
Without adequate support, the conveyor belt may sag, causing damage to the belt, the structure and the belt seal. Furthermore, this can lead to:
- Loss of material
- Unsafe situations
- Dust emissions
WHAT is an impact bed?
Impact bars support and protect conveyor belts at the loading- or transfer point. Several impact bars together form an impact bed. A well designed impact bed absorbs the impact energy of the material and provides stable support for the conveyor belt.
HOW does an impact bed work?
A @TBK Group ImpTek impact bed consists of several impact bars mounted on an adjustable frame beneath the discharge point. Thanks to the angle adjustment, the impact bed can be precisely tailored to the trough shape of the conveyor belt.
The impact bars consist of an aluminium base profile with a shock-absorbing rubber layer and a wear-resistant UHMW PE top layer. This provides optimum support for the conveyor belt, whilst keeping friction to a minimum.
In combination with well-adjusted belt sealing, this creates a durable and stable loading or transfer point.
