TBK: anno 1956

TBK was founded in 1956 by Mr. Roelof Knol under the name “Technical Bureau Knol.” He was working from a houseboat as a commercial agent for a number of foreign companies. Some of these companies were already operating in the field of material handling. In the late seventies, there were three employees, and the company began to import and sell belt scrapers. In the mid-eighties, the company developed its own product, the AIR-O-BLAST air canon. After successful tests were carried out in the Netherlands, the company began to sell and then to export the air canon. By the mid-nineties, TBK had developed the SPILL-EX skirting board sealing system and acquired an exclusive dealership from IFE Aufbereitungstechnik GmbH to operate in The Netherlands. In the late nineties, TBK introduced its own installation and servicing departments. In June 2000 the company was bought by the current management. The company grew steadily and the volume of projects increased. At the beginning of 2001, the AIR-O-BLAST air canons division was sold to a foreign party and cooperation with Tega Industries Ltd. intensified. Tega manufactured the successful SPILL-EX skirting board sealing system for TBK, but was also manufacturing FRIFLO impact bars. TBK then decided to sell FRIFLO within Europe, while TEGA sold SPILL-EX to countries outside of Europe. Currently, SPILL-EX is sold in Australia, Europe (BE, CZ, DE, ES, FR, IT, NOR, PT, SE, UK) India and South Africa. In 2003 TBK moved to Woudenberg and the company grew steadily thanks to its solution-orientated approach and service-orientated attitude. By the end of 2008, the TBK Group umbrella was operating with three companies beneath it, each of which focused on its own specialisation. In this way, they offered even greater added value to their customers.
